It has been so long so long since I wrote on this blog.  I have started a new business today.  I think it will be a great benefit to many people.  It is called Paid2Save.  You can go to your app store and download it.  Paid2Save   When it has downloaded follow instructions and  Register, when it ask for an id number 19069 is the number to enter.  When you do that you become a connector to me.  You can invite your friends to download the app also.  You will receive an email with your own id number. God is so good.  Yesterday I went to work and I found myself feeling a little fearful.  I had about 3 cancellations and when your money depends on customers coming in it can make you anxious.  I started asking myself "Have I been giving excellent service?  Have I been designing to the very best of my ability?  Am I going crazy, too old, up to date ect???  I took a big deep breath and spoke  "God is in control of my appointments, He knows what I need, He knows when to send people, He will take care of me"  So thank you God that you are my Jehovah Jirah my provider!   I had some people call after that and make appointments, I had customers change times, so everything is ok and all the ones that had cancelled had good reasons and rebooked. I just panicked then I realized that I need to REST in the LORD!  Let him be in control!

Wow Time flies!  I have not been on my blog now for over 10 months.  I was thinking this week that I need to start writing again even if no one is reading! and I need to not be so obsessed with am I writing with correct grammer and is it making sense!  so I will just write!

I still absolutely love what I do!  Being able to go to work and make others lives easier by giving them hairstyles that are hopefully easy and flattering! and by just being able to listen to people.  There is a world out there of hurting people.  Jesus is the answer.  Period.  I hope that as I listen to others they can see the light of Jesus in me reaching out to them.

Rub your hands really good, take left hand put on top of your head,....take right hand and put on back of head massage....not sudsy? thats ok keep massaging Rinse then repeat.  This time the shampoo should lather up!  Many times we try to get the lather going on the first shampoo!

How true is that in our life?  When we are thinking about doing something....for me writing a blog....  the first time it is not as easy (it isn't lathering right)..its not reading just right so I'm tempted to give up (with shampoo many people say oh the professional product doesn't last very long so they give up and go back to cheap) when maybe if we just keep on trying we may just get it.

Wow its been since October that I have written a post.  I  wish I was a little more creative in writing all my thoughts but Hey I am not so I will do the best that I can.  The Main thing I want to say today is I thank God for my customers and I thank Him for helping me serve them.  This past Christmas season I was amazed that the slow economy didn't affect my business.  I was busy.  Why do I think I was busy?  I have really tried to go the extra mile with my customers. I read where it is so much easier to keep the customers you have than to get new ones.  BUT you have to really serve the customers you have coming to you.  So this week when you have customers that you have seen before, that are your regular customers, treat them with an extra smile and as my good friend would say "Treat em with some niceness"  I pray blessings over your efforts.  until next time!!!

As you create let God create

Last week I had the time of my life.  It was to date one of my busiest weeks as a Hairstylist.  I love creating.  I feel like when I design someones hairstyle that I am the sculpture designing a piece of clay.  Molding it into what I see that will enhance my clients most beautiful features. My thoughts go to God as He continues to day after day mold us to enhance our most beautiful features...the main feature "Jesus in us".  That is God's goal.. for Jesus to shine through us and others to see Him in us.  So today let God continue to create your life to reflect Jesus as you create your clients hairstyle.  Be Blessed today!  

Change

This week was very rewarding to me.  I had new clients!! YAY!!!   I spent time listening to them and I feel like I was able to give them what they want.  Most of them wanted change!!  Do you like change?  I do but sometimes I do not go after it like I should as a hairstylist or in my personal life.  I think we need to sit down every once in a while and ask ourselves "am I promoting what I believe in".  Whether that be God or our taste in different styles or just living a moral life.  Are we willing to change the way we do our own hair or will we continue to style it the same old way???  Just asking!  I am not saying you have to change your hairstyle but just trying to get you to think.....am I constantly trying to be a better person or be better at my vocation or be better at home or am I just reacting and not being proactive.  This blog is just what is on my mind!  I am evaluating!!!  Enjoy today!!!

Serve others and give yourself a raise

My life as a hairstylist began over 27 years ago!  Many of those years I did not handle my vocation in a  professional manner.  I have learned over the last 7 years that in order to give my client what they want and me get what I want I must take on the servant attitude.  Christ tells us in the bible that he came to serve, to save that which is lost.  I believe that God wants me to look at each client as His child and serve them.  Many times that is mainly just listening and doing my best to give them what will make them happy!!! (I pray to read their mind LOL)  I feel like that is what I do many days!!!  I have also come to realize that it's ok to charge for my services.  Many people get raises every year and we as hairstylist (especially when we make our own price menu) do not get  raise forever or  maybe every 5 years.  (Now I believe you should educate yourself thoroughly and that you should be professional in all aspects.)  In fact one class I took a few years ago said that every year at the same time you should go up on one service.  So if you choose Oct.  one Oct you could go up $1-$5 on your color, or what ever service you maybe had the most education that year.  Then the next Oct go up on another service.  That way you train yourself and your clients that every year you will get a raise.   Have I done this?  I was faithful for many years and lately I have not done this but I remember it was great when I did.  I just might have to take my own advice!!  Have a blessed profitable day!!
